3 - 4 Snow Valley MS 150K Bike Tour

Manassas, Virginia, 1500-2000 riders 25, 60, 100-mile routes. This is the 18th year National Capital Chapter has hosted this event, sponsored by Snow Valley Mountain Spring Water. There are over 140 MS rides throughout the country. Cyclists can choose from a variety of route options-riding for just one day, or choosing to take the two day challenge, tour. Riders wind through the Civil War stomping grounds on Northern Virginia from Manassas to Historic Fredericksburg where they will join National MS Society's Virginia Dare Bike Tour. This millennium event, like all MS tours, will be fully catered and supported with high energy snacks, delicious meals, historical sites, entertainment and full ridersupport services. Benefiting... The Society, which proudly boasts the lowest administrative costs of charitable organizations anywhere, meets the needs of people with MS in the Washington Metropolitan area. Providing accurate up-to-date information, assisting people with MS get or keep employment, stabilizing families and keeping them together, as well as addressinghundreds of other concerns, their goal is always, self empowerment. 6 -10 - Dream Ride 2000

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 1,450 participants and spectators, 30-176 mile options. Benefiting...Last years event raised over $45,000 to benefit local charities. Since 1995, the event has raised over $145,000 for 36 charities in Lancaster County. The celebration is focused around the"County's Anniversary" They are seeking support from the local UGI Gas Company to lend "alternative" fuel vehicles for SAG. 17 - Ron's Birthday Ride (Skyline Drive/Shenandoah Park)

Team DC took the challenge of riding part of skyline drive from the Front Royal (North) Entrance Station to Mathews Arm for lunch and then back. Total mileage 50 miles. Highest elevation overlook, 3,385 feet, Hogback Overlook.

22 - 25 - Washington DC AIDS Ride

Raleigh NC to Washington, DC, 1,800 Cyclists + 500 crew 330 miles. Riders will take four days to cover the 330 miles from Raleigh, NC to our Nation's Capital, cycling through small towns and historic countryside. The Closing Ceremonies in Washington, DC are the most incredible in the nation. Riders converge 'en masse' on the The Mall in front of the Capitol Building. Some members of Team DC participated in the inaugural, second, and fourth ride of this AIDS Ride series.

Benefiting...Since the inaugural California AIDS Ride Presented by Tanqueray in 1994, American AIDS Rides have grossed nearly $87 million. In 1997, an estimated 11,000 Riders, each of whom had raised at least $1,500 in contributions, participated in one of the five AIDS Rides that have dotted the country from California to New York. Beneficiaries for this ride are The Whitman-Walker Clinic and Food & Friends. Sponsorship... Beyond sponsoring Team rider's donations, there are opportunities for companies to highlight their product name and services on the ride, through mention in newsletters and all official documents with a minimum sponsorship donation of $10,000.
