Hundreds of bikers from all over the region gathered early in the morning on Sunday, August 26, at the pavilion in Reston Town Center for the annual Reston Century Bike Ride, sponsored by the Reston Bike Club.

Bikers had the choice of riding 30, 60, or 100 mile long routes through rolling hills and back roads in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. Those who chose the 100-mile ride had to be done by 6 p.m. Sunday night. After the ride, bikers gathered back at the pavilion for a party, where they danced to music and ate lots of carbohydrates after a long day of bike riding.

A TEAM EFFORT: Left Sonja Twiford of Potomac Falls, holds her bike, while teammates Ron Fine, left, of Bethesda, and John Burwell, of Washington, D.C., help her get it ready for a 100-mile bike ride.
