Gil, Ron, Claudia and John were among the 6500+ riders on WABAs Bike DC on September 23rd, sponsored by Giant Food. It was very gratifying to see the dedication shown by Washington area cyclists by their overwhelming solidarity and attendance of this event in spite of the necessary route changes. WABA provided plenty of flags for our helmets, handlebars, and backpacks. It was a patriotic and uplifting experience for all who participated. Whatever your jersey color, Red, White & Blue were the colors of the day. The Washington Area Bicyclists Association is dedicated to promoting cycling as a transportation alternative and to expanding the network of bike trails to make the DC urban area a biker safe and friendly environment.
