Valley MS 150 Bike Tour 2002 Where: Start/Finish is in Manassas, Virginia; Overnight is in Historic Fredericksburg, Virginia. Why: Help the National Multiple Sclerosis Society end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis and have a fun, healthy time doing it! How Much: Each cyclist must turn in a $250 fundraising commitment before the tour starts or at packet pick-up in order to ride. |

| June 8, 2002 | Knock, Knock, Knockin' on the President's Door. There will be two big climbs between miles 12 and 24. The first climb, up Catoctin Hollow Rd, prepares us for the second and more difficult climb, up Park Central Rd and past Camp David at the top. After the spectacular second downhill we will rest andm regroup at the Thurmont Sheetz at mile 32. The remainder of the ride is on flat to rolling terrain, but tired legs may require more than the usual effort. The routes are the same until just after the rest stop. No go if roads are wet. | |

Drive It is beautiful and scenic in the park. Watch out for bears, seen them before, harmless thou. You can make a U-turn at any time which happened to us once in a rain storm. Be prepared for long, perspiring climbs and thrilling, chilling, downhill runs. The hills are not really that steep, just loooooong. Food only available at Elkwallow. Id carry some trail mix along the way. Entrance fee for bicyclists is $5. |

on Wheels - July 4, 2002 Ron, Mike & Nadine and Johnny B, met up with the famous Babes on Bikes, and Babe Magnets at the Iwo Jima Memorial for their annual patriotic tour of historical sites and trivia trade off. Thirteen riders and bikes were well decorated in red, white, and blue with balloons, flags, flag pennes, and sparkle metallics. |
